Seeking PhD Research Study Participants

Do you identify as a person with a disability and as Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans*, Intersex, Gender-diverse, or Queer?

You are invited to participate in a PhD research project that is exploring the experiences of people who identify as having a disability and as LGBTI or Queer. This study explores how individuals define and experience these aspects of identity in their day-to-day lives. It also explores how people negotiate, resist and challenge cultural ideas about the nature of ability, sexuality, and fixed ideas about gender.

Participation in this study would involve taking part in one or two, one-hour interviews about your lived experience and about what gender, sexuality and dis/ability mean to you.

You can choose to be interviewed by phone or Skype via audio, video and/or chat. If you live in Tasmania, you can also choose to be interviewed in-person. You will receive a $30 gift voucher for your time.

If you are aged 18+, live in Australia, identify as a person with a disability, and as LGBTI, Queer, or otherwise non-hetero or non-cisgender, I would love to hear from you!

You can download a participant information sheet, which explains the research and participation in more detail.

You can also contact the researcher by email if you have any questions or if you may like to participate.

This research has human research ethics approval.
